We are on the verge of having the sum total of the human imagination from across the ages accessible at our fingertips. Is this something we should be excited about or frighted of? While we are promised that it will provide relief from the mind-numbingly bureaucratic, what are the consequences for the creative life? If AI can create a ballad from the best of Don McLean and Leonard Cohen, a symphony that Mozart would have written had he lived longer than 45, or create a new saga based on universal themes drawn from ancient myths from around the world, what hope is there for you and me? And after all, what is creativity for? In this session we will look at creativity as a form of individuation, and the potential consequences of AI for human potential.
